Jeff Sangalis is the Managing Partner of Prolign Capital. Mr. Sangalis founded the Private Equity Solutions Group of ORIX USA (PES), the predecessor of Prolign, in 2012 to focus on lower middle market companies and Independent Sponsors by offering standalone equity investments (control and non-control) and, to a lesser extent, flexible junior capital in conjunction with equity investments.
Mr. Sangalis has extensive history and success in sourcing, investing, and managing private equity and mezzanine investments in a wide variety of lower-middle and middle-market companies throughout the United States. He has invested in over 125 platform transactions totaling nearly $2.0 billion in invested capital. Prior to founding Prolign and its predecessor entity, Mr. Sangalis was a founder and Managing Partner of two investment firms focusing on the lower middle market.
Mr. Sangalis has current or previous active involvement on more than 50 public and private company boards of directors. He is active in the community and involved with numerous non-profits, is also past President and board member of the Association for Corporate Growth (Houston), and two-term past President and board member of the Houston Private Equity Association.
Mr. Sangalis received a BS from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
Zoltan Berty is a Partner of Prolign Capital. Mr. Berty joined PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2018, and brings more than 25 years of transactional experience across multiple industries and diversified markets. Prior to joining PES, Mr. Berty served as Managing Director for Gladstone Capital Corporation, where he originated new investment opportunities and coordinated the due diligence and execution of debt and equity investment transactions. He also has prior investment experience with Caltius Mezzanine, D.E. Shaw & Co.’s Direct Capital Group and CapitalSource Finance. Mr. Berty started his career in public accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive license).
Mr. Berty received a BS in Accounting from the University of Southern California, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Jeff Browning is a Partner of Prolign Capital. Mr. Browning joined ORIX USA in 2008, before transitioning to PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2012. Mr. Browning’s previous experience includes roles with Palomino Capital, LP, a Dallas-based middle-market merchant and investment banking firm, and with Dallas-based Challenger Capital Group, Ltd., a middle-market investment banking firm. He was also previously with JP Morgan Securities in New York and Houston, as well as with the Structured Finance group of Wells Fargo Bank in Dallas.
Mr. Browning received a BBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University and MBA in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Brian Kerr is a Partner of Prolign Capital. Mr. Kerr has spent over 25 years working with lower middle market corporations and entrepreneurs on financial and strategic projects, including balance sheet recapitalizations, debt and equity alternatives, leveraged buyouts, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2015, Mr. Kerr was the founder of Clairemont Capital Group, a lower middle market private investment firm. Before forming Clairemont Capital Group, Mr. Kerr was a Managing Director at Cornerstone Capital Holdings and Penn Mezzanine. At both Cornerstone and Penn Mezzanine, Mr. Kerr was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and underwriting investment opportunities, as well as portfolio company management. Mr. Kerr started his career as an investment banker advising private and public companies on M&A, private placement and equity and equity-linked transactions.
Mr. Kerr received a BS in Economics from Lehigh University and MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Brandon Boyd is a Principal of Prolign Capital. Mr. Boyd joined ORIX USA in 2010 and transitioned over to PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2012. He is responsible for the analysis of potential and existing portfolio investments, focusing on financial modeling, due diligence activities and industry research. Mr. Boyd also maintains ongoing management responsibilities for existing portfolio companies.
Mr. Boyd received a BBA in Finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Nate Kinney is a Vice President of Prolign Capital. Mr. Kinney joined PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2020, and has spent eight years working in middle market private equity for various institutions. Prior to PES, Mr. Kinney was at Appareo Capital, where he was responsible for executing due diligence on new investment opportunities, managing existing investments, and conducting analysis and research across a variety of industries. He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer working as a consultant for industrial clients.
Mr. Kinney received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Sean Roossien is a Vice President of Prolign Capital. Mr. Roossien joined ORIX USA in 2011 and transitioned over to PES, the predecessor of Prolign, in 2012. He is responsible for executing due diligence on new investment opportunities, managing existing investments, and conducting analysis and research across a variety of industries.
Mr. Roossien received a BBA in Finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
